2007 ANNUAL MEETING LSU AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND AGRIBUSINESS
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of the LSU Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Alumni Association will be held on November 10, 2007 in the Magnolia Room of the LSU Union at 10:00 a.m.   A partial list of student and alumni awards presented to be presented at the meeting is provided below.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARDS

Alumni Association (Association) are welcome at any time to submit nominees for the various awards that the Association has created. These awards and a brief summary of their criteria include:

Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award
Any alumnus not employed by an educational institution is eligible. Nomination may be made by any alumnus of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. A letter of nomination should
identify the nominee's achievements and indicate (1) the significance of those achievements to Louisiana, regional, national and/or international agriculture and (2) the long-range substance of those achievements to society and the general public.

Outstanding Academic (Teaching, Research, and/or Extension) Alumni Achievement Award
Eligibility for the award consists of (a) any Agricultural Economist or Agribusiness Economist who is an alumnus of the L.S.U. Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness and currently employed at an accredited college or university in any department or stationed thereat by virtue of employment with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and engaged in an academic capacity or (b) who is not an
alumnus but is currently employed by the Louisiana State University in administration, teaching, research and/or extension of agricultural economics and agribusiness.

Nominations may be made by any alumnus. Nomination may be made by any alumnus of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. A letter of nomination should identify the nominee's academic achievements and indicate (1) the significance of those academic achievements to Louisiana, regional, national and/or international agriculture and (2) the long-range substance of those
achievements to the agricultural economics/agribusiness profession.

Outstanding International Alumni Award
Eligibility for the award includes any Agricultural Economist or Agribusiness Economist who is an alumnus of the L.S.U. Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, not a United
States citizen and residing in a foreign country. Nomination may be made by any alumnus of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. A letter of nomination should identify the nominee's achievements and indicate (1) the significance of those achievements to international agriculture and (2) the long-range substance of those achievements to society and the general public.

Nominations are also welcome for:
(1) President-elect of the Association
(2) Secretary-Treasurer
(3) Board Member, both instate and out-of-state
